How to protect your teeth from cavities every day

Small habits, big results
Cavities are incredibly common, but here's the good news: they're almost entirely preventable. It doesn't take anything complicated, just a handful of habits done consistently.
Start with the basics: brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. Fluoride does more than most people realize. It actually strengthens enamel and can reverse decay while it's still in its earliest stages, before it becomes a full cavity. Flossing daily rounds this out by clearing away the plaque that builds up between teeth, in spots your toothbrush simply can't reach.
Then there's diet, which plays a bigger role than most people give it credit for. Sugary and acidic foods feed the bacteria responsible for decay, so being mindful of how often you snack, not just what you eat, gives your teeth a real chance to recover between meals.
Your dentist is your best ally
Even the best home routine works better alongside regular checkups. We can spot early decay before it becomes a problem and add extra protection with fluoride treatments or sealants. Prevention is always simpler and more affordable than treatment.
